Max's Annual Report (Like I did one last year. Pffft)

Remember, Remember, The Fifth Of November. That's right, folks. On November 5th, 2020, Manatee Max will be four years old.
It's been a slow climb. Max still doesn't generate enough income for Pearl to leave her full time job. Max was doing well before 2020 hit. Most of Max's sales come from eBay. eBay went through a management shake up and made a lot of changes and a lot of mistakes. Max's eBay sales plummeted as a result. eBay is still basically broken. We don't know what all's going on over there, but they seriously need to get their house in order.
The government's response to Covid19 has seriously damaged the economy. The products Manatee Max sells are mostly discretionary items. People have less disposable income these days. Folks still buy necessities, but fewer niceties. Manatee Max ended September 2020 in the red. It's the first month in a long time that we actually lost money. (It wasn't much, but it's no fun getting out the red crayon.)
We continue to be on the look out for more reputable suppliers so we can expand our inventory. Finding reputable vendors is a surprisingly difficult task. Max's goals include being able to keep our prices relatively low while providing high quality goods and service. It's a delicate balancing act, and much of that depends on partnering with wholesalers who aren't trying to rip retailers off with cheap junk and poor support.
With that said, we're going to celebrate. November 5th marks Max's forth year in business. A lot of small businesses don't survive their first year, and 2020 has certainly not been kind to small businesses at all. We are thankful to still be here.
We're in this for the long haul. We're making lasting relationships with return customers by providing great value and service. Thank y'all for putting your faith in us as we continue to grow.
