Manatees gathering in the warm waters off Cape Canaveral witness the launch of Vanguard II - the first weather satellite in orbit from the United States. Vanguard II was designed to measure cloud-cover distribution over the daylight portion of its orbit, for a period of 19 days, and to provide information on the density of the atmosphere for the lifetime of its orbit (about 300 years). As of May 2016, Vanguard II was still in orbit.
Hey, but you can do more than just look at the clouds with the Davis Vantage Pro2 Wireless Weather Station!
